A team of Kathmandu University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bhola Thapa discussed with the Mayor of Namobuddha Municipality, T.P. Timilashina on the possible areas of collaboration between the University and Municipality. The meeting appraised the ongoing activities in Janahit Secondary School, the outreach center in Dapcha, and discussed future collaborations in the field of animal science. The meeting also deliberated various issues of education and development including the following:
- Teacher preparation for technical and vocation areas
- Teaching-learning situations in the schools
- Agri-business in the Municipality
- Infrastructural development
- Seeking resources jointly
- Mining, etc.
Likewise, the team of the University visited Janak Secondary School and observed ongoing activities on Grade 9-12 activities of the technical stream. Professor Dr. Manish Pokharel, Dean School of Engineering, and Professor Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Advisor, Community Engagement Division under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and Rajan Poudel, Chief Administrative Offer of the Municipality, and other staff members of the University were also present in the meeting.
