On 20 August 2021, an interaction program was held with Shankharapur Municipality with a view to forge partnerships in areas of mutual interest.
Mayor of Shankharapur Municipality, Subarna Shrestha along with Sukadev Nepal, Durga Malla, Boudha Raj Niroula came for a visit as a team to discuss the collaboration. Bal Chandra Luitel led KU delegates, and Shankharapur Municipality delegates led by the Mayor to share ongoing programs in the municipality. Both the teams expressed ideas and views regarding how they can collaborate and work together on expanding the KU’s education and make it community-friendly.
The Mayor expressed that Shankharapur Municipality is eager to work with Kathmandu University and is ready to support in all aspects. Prof. Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Advisor of Community Engagement Division welcomed the delegates by highlighting the need for the development of technical instructors and Prof. Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Jha, spoke about the possible programs and offered tokens of love to the guests from Shankharapur Municipality. Likewise, Dr. Uddhab Pyakurel highlighted the possibility of running social science-related programs in partnership with KU.
