Delegates from Butwal Technical Institute (BTI) visited KU

A delegation from the Butwal Technical Institute (BTI) led by the Mayor of the Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Mr. Shiva Raj Subedi met the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa on issues of preparation of human resources in the area of technical instruction with a focus on the apprenticeship model of education and training. The meeting has agreed to work together in developing joint programs in the areas of technical instruction. Of particular, the following issues were discussed in the meeting:

  • Producing human resources for technical areas for the development of the country
  • Brain drain and its effect on our developmental endeavor
  • Need for teachers and instructors in the TVET subsector
  • Preparing middle-level human resource
  • B. Tech. Ed. programs and its possibility in Butwal and beyond the region

Mr. Netra Prasad Panthi, Member of the Constituent Assembly and Er. Abhimanyu Bhimarjun Panthi, Deputy Director of BTI accompanied the Mayor in the delegation.

Prof. Dr. Manish Pohkarel, Dean of School of Engineering, Associate Professor Brijesh Adhikary, Associate Dean, School of Engineering, Dr. KP Shreshtha, Associate Director, Technical Training Centre, and Professor Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel, Advisor, Community Engagement Division, Office of the Vice-Chancellor were also present.
